First, let's address the FRUIT. It's everywhere! Stands and carts and baskets. Apples, pears, melons, mangoes, bananas, grapes, blueberries, watermelon, cherries, apricots, dragonfruit, pineapple...all dependent on the season of course. It's fabulous and has made up a large part of my diet. Just have to make sure to wash everything before eating, of course. Price varies depending on weight, but to give you an idea-one guy charges me about 2 kuai for 2 bananas. AKA about 30 cents.

Qingdao is also a seaside city, so the seafood is abundant. I ate a lot in restaurants, but I never bought the stuff to cook myself. 1) I don't know how and 2) raw/alive sea creatures look STRANGE.

These particular pictures are cheating a bit. This is a large open barbeque restaurant. BUT you can get barbeque from the roadside very easily as well so here it is. Pick your raw food of choice, they skewer it up and cook it. Pretty tasty as far as I'm concerned, but that depends on what you get of course. Lots of smoky flavors, which I like.

Specific vendors' wares near my building:

As you can see, I've tried my fair share of street food. I've only been sick once from it. That's a pretty great ratio, in my opinion. However, I do typically have an iron stomach and I wasn't completely crazy. I stayed far away from anything near uncooked meat for one. If you venture to a foreign country you should definitely be wary, wash the fruit, and don't drink the water if these things are what notable sources tell you to do. Be cautious, but don't miss out on some really great flavors!
